My grandad John Remington known as Jack lived in a small cottage opposite a little burn in Ravenstonedale. He died sometime in the eighties. His wife Elsie used to own and run a hair dressers in Kikby Stephen. Her daughter Dorethy married a farmer I believe his surname was Medcalf and moved onto a farm in the village.
