I have a marriage record from Ravenstonedale from 1581, and Raynold Fothergill was listed as being "of ottarkeld". I've looked until I'm blue in the face, but I can't find anything even remotely resembling "ottarkeld".
I've used your website so many times (mostly just to look at pictures and dream about visiting) and was hoping that a "local" might make heads-or-tails out of this.
