Glenys Barnes - Accrington - 2001

I stayed at the Jolly Farmers in Kirkby Stephen the other week and went to Hawes on a Classic Coach from Ravenstonedale. It was a lovely day, great family and I am so pleased to discover your lovely
web page I hope to come again some day.
As I do not drive I feel I must stay somewhere like Kirkby Stephen. When my husband was alive we used to come to the area on day trips from home (Accrington). I must congratulate you again and maybe sometime friends will bring me to your village. I passed through on a bus to Kendal and I would like very much to see more of it, seeing the pictures on here remind me of a happy week spent in a lovely part of the country.
Good Luck to you all
from Glenys :-)

I come 2 or 3 times a year to The Jolly Farmers in Kirkby Stephen
and I was at a meeting above the chapel in Sept.2001. I keep in touch
with your Millennium Web Site every week or so. When I am at K.S. I
visit Ravenstonedale, have lunch at the Kings Arms and walk through
the village, slowly I might add with a rest on the form near the school.
I
have your web site in my favourites, are there plans for additions
to it? As I don't drive it is better for me to stay in K.S. Carol is
very good and takes me to and from the station so I can visit various
places on the Settle Carlisle and I also get a bus to Kendal and of
course your village with various means of return. Penrith is another
lovely run, round the villages. This all makes a change from industrial
East Lancs. Anyway I must close now, hope you are all keeping well
Cheerio for now, hope to see you next Spring. Best Wishes, Glenys Barnes.
