Declarations of Interest
Cllr Morriss declared a personal interest in payment to Raven Graphics in which she is a partner.

Apologies for absence had been received from Cllr, Caroline Morris, District Councillor George Boustead.       

Minutes of the Meeting held on Thursday 13th March 2008 had been circulated and were signed by the Chairman as a correct record.

Children’s Playgrounds
Newbiggin-on-Lune    
A grant has been authorised from the Big Lottery fund, administered by Eden District Council, of £19,751.00.  This will enable the order to be placed with Playdale Ltd. 
A further quote and specification had been received from SMP Playgrounds but it was felt that the wooden construction of the Playdale equipment would be more appropriate in this rural setting.

Highways Stewards Scheme
Clerk reported on a meeting he had attended with Guy Richardson of CALC, three other clerks and representatives from Cumbria Highways. The implementation of the scheme had been outlined and some suggested amendments had been made by CALC and the clerks.

Ravenstonedale High Chapel
It was reported that a draft lease had been received from the URC, North-West Synod and the proposed terms were under consideration.  No commitment could be made until a full structural survey has been carried out. Grants to cover the survey cost have been applied for from EDC and Neighbourhood Forum.

Future Structure of Eden District Council
Parish Council responded to the proposed restructuring of Eden District Council in favour of Option 1, the cabinet system, but a preference was expressed for cross-       party representation within the cabinet.

Upper Eden Community Plan
 A copy of the Final Report had been received but Cllr Morris, who had been most involved with its preparation was not available to aid discussion and most councillors had not had the opportunity to read the report. This item to be carried forward.

Parish Charter for Eden
A copy of new Parish/District/County Councils Charter has been received.  It is now also available on the Ravenstonedale.org website
