Declarations of Interest
There were no declarations of personal or prejudicial interest in any item on this agenda.

Apologies for absence were received from Cllr Alison Morriss and District Councillor George Boustead

Minutes of the Meeting held on Thursday 13th September 2007 had been circulated and were signed by the Chairman as a correct record.

CALC Road-show
Councillors were reminded of the arrangements for the forthcoming Road-show on Wednesday 24th October.

Standards Board - Code of Conduct
Clerk had attended the training session arranged by Eden District Council at Appleby on 18th September.  It was reported that the brown booklet previously supplied to all members contained all the necessary information.

Children’s Playgrounds
A donation of £200.00 towards the cost of the Newbiggin-on-Lune play area had been received from former members of the Ravenstonedale High Chapel congregation.
Paul Capstick reported that rehearsals had started for the Annual Variety Show in aid of funds. The show will take place on Saturday 8th December in N-o-L Public Hall.

Upper Eden Community Plan
Ravenstonedale has not been represented at the last two meetings due to the dates coinciding with Parish Council meetings.  The next meeting will be on 18th October.

Resolved that the foregoing two payments be approved.

Highway Matters
It was reported that Cumbria Highways had been seen working on the culvert near Penny End, N-o-L where flooding had previously been reported.

Planning Applications
There were no planning applications to consider.

Statement of Community Involvement (Draft)
A Consultation Draft of a proposed Statement of Community Involvement had been received from the Yorkshire Dales National Park Planning Department.  It was considered not to be of relevance to Ravenstonedale.

Registration of Village Greens 2007
The question was put “Are there areas in the parish which should be registered as village greens”?  This would preserve open areas not currently registered as open spaces in perpetuity.
Suggested areas included The Shrubbery, Scandal Beck Nature/Play area and the small triangle of grass verge opposite the school where the bus stop stands.  This last area has been maintained by the parish council for many years.
Further information on Greens Registration will be brought to a future meeting.
