Minutes of the Annual General Meeting held on Thursday 12th May

Election of Chairman for the year 2005-2006
Retiring Chairman Cllr John Bull invited nominations for the post
of Chairman for the year 2004/2005. Cllr Caroline Morris proposed
John Bull. No other nominations were proposed.
Resolved that John Bull be elected Chairman for the year 2005/2006.
Election of Vice-Chairman for the year 2005-2006
Cllr Caroline Morris was nominated.
Resolved that Caroline Morris be elected Vice-Chairman for the year
2005/2006.
Minutes of the Meeting held on Thursday 14th April 2005 in Ravenstonedale
High
Chapel Room following the Annual Parish Meeting had been circulated.
Resolved that the minutes be signed by the chairman as a correct
record.
Apologies for absence had been received from County Councillor Tim Stoddard
Children’s Playgrounds
Donations had been received from Mr & Mrs Johnson, Coldbeck,
Mr Kirby Snr., and Biggins.
The Bowling Green Land Transfer Document was signed on behalf of
the Parish Council by Cllr J Bull & Cllr P Capstick.
A Fund raising Barn Dance & Barbecue is being organised for
Saturday 10th September at High Lane, Newbiggin-on-Lune.
An evening entertainment in N-o-L Public Hall is also being arranged.

Quality Parishes
Following further discussion it was decided that the cost and work
involved in applying for Quality Parish status outweighed any advantage
which might be gained.
A major proportion of the criteria are already met including all
elected members and a qualified clerk. It was further noted that
re-application would be necessary following the next election in
less than two years time.

Meeting 26th May 7.30pm, Kirkby Stephen Community & Council
Centre. Cllr C Morris to attend and report to next meeting.
Ravenstonedale Recycling Centre
Cllr Stoddard had sent an e-mail indicating that County Highways
were in consultation with EDC following their refusal of the preferred
site by the school.
A 685 Road Safety
Cllr Stoddard had sent an e-mail stating that the police were still
studying the cause of the latest accidents at the Ravenstonedale
junction.
