Melvyn Redger, president of CALC, presents quality status certificates to David Smith, of Orton Parish Council, and to John Bull, chairman of Ravenstonedale Parish Council. The presentations were made at the Roundthorn Country House Hotel.

Welcome. This section of the website provides the latest information on matters relating to the Ravenstonedale Parish Council. All information provided here is available under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

If not the “Best Parish in the Word” then we are certainly a “Quality Parish Council”. This was officially recognised on 12th January 2006 when Winston Collinge, Deputy Chairman of the Cumbria Association of Local Councils presented your Chairman, John Bull with the Quality Parish Certificate.

The Quality Parish and Town Council Scheme is a government initiative for all the 9,500 parish and town councils in England. To date only 230 have received this award. The accreditation process is conducted by the County Accreditation Panel on behalf of Her Majesty’s Government, and co-ordinated with the support of the National Association of Local Councils.
