Election of Chairman for the year 2007-2008
John Bull was nominated and elected unanimously.
Election of Vice-Chairman for the year 2007-2008
Caroline Morris was nominated and elected unanimously.
The Chairman and Vice-chairman signed Declarations of Acceptance of Office.

Minutes of Meeting held on Thursday 20th April 2006 had been circulated and were signed by the Chairman as a correct record.
Children’s Playgrounds
It was reported that instructions had been given to the contractors to commence work on the beckside wall at the Scandal Beck site. Funding decisions are expected during this month from Awards for All for N-o-L and Breathing Places for Scandal Beck.

The draft Statement of Accounts for 2006-2007 which had been circulated at the Annual Parish Meeting had been approved by the Internal Auditor.
It was resolved that the Statement of Accounts be approved.
Ravenstonedale High Chapel
No further action had been taken since the Annual Parish Meeting except for further information gathering.
A meeting of the advisory committee was scheduled for Friday 8th June when a draft business plan and costings will be presented.
Upper Eden Community Plan
Councillors Hilary Mirrey and Caroline Morris outlined their works on the UECP sub-committees covering all aspects of service provision for the area including the police, fire and ambulance, affordable housing (particularly in the villages) transport, etc.
Conclusions reached by the UECP will be relayed to the appropriate authorities.
Alison Morriss offered to print the survey results on an extra wide computer printer to facilitate analysis. Clerk to send spreadsheet.
Ravenstonedale Garden Waste Skip
Eden District Council has discontinued provision of the fortnightly garden waste skip service as a cost-cutting measure. A private contractor, Eden Recycling, has offered to provide a similar service at no cost to the parish council.
Resolved that Eden Recycling be asked to provide the service. Compost Bins, Bargain Offer.
Appleby New Fair
Report of meeting March 27th 2007 was noted. There will be similar provision of drinking water, toilets and waste skip facilities on Cote Moor as last year. Cumbria police will have a mobile office on site every day.
Proposal for Unitary Cumbria
A letter from Eden District Council regarding its response to the County Council’s submission for unitary control had been circulated with the agenda for this meeting.
Cllr Stoddard gave a comprehensive explanation and justification of the County’s bid for unitary status.
