High Chapel Restoration
High Chapel underwent an extensive renovation in 2000. In addition to interior alterations the exterior rendering was removed to reveal long forgotten features such as former windows etc. The beauty of the stonework revealed generated a local lobby for the rendering not to be renewed.

Sadly the quality of the stone was judged by English Heritage to be of insufficient quality to sustain our local weather and a new rendering was subsequently applied with consequent loss of the old exposed features. These features are pictured here for posterity.
