There are a wealth of wild flowers to be found in the parish of Ravenstonedale. Below is just a small sample of what is available.

1. Blue Southwhistle (Cicerbita Macrophylla). Location: Roadside at Newbiggin-on-Lune
2. Fragrant Orchid (Gymnadenia Conopsea) and Tufted Vetch (Vicia Cracca). Location: Roadside bank near Newbiggin-on-Lune
3. Meadowsweet (Filipendula Ulmaria) and Greater Burnet Saxifrage (Pimpinella Major). Location: Newbiggin-on-Lune
4. Northern Marsh Orchid (Orchis Purpurella). Location: Common land near Newbiggin-on-Lune
Pimpinella Major is extremely rare in Cumbria
